Telephone Conversation of Foreign Minister with Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation

KABUL – Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani had a telephone conversation with the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad bin Amin Madani.

Pointing at the role and importance of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in the Peace Talks of Afghanistan and regarding Afghanistan’s previous request for holding Islamic Scholars Conference, H.E Salahudin Rabbani said, “Afghanistan is interested in an Islamic Scholars International Conference on Afghanistan to be held under the supervision of OIC in one of the Islamic countries or in Saudi Arabia.”

During this telephone conversation Mr. Madani emphasized OIC’s efforts for holding this Conference and added that after required consultations Afghanistan would be informed of the conference’ venue and time.
