Foreign Minister Meets with the Iranian Ambassador to Kabul

Kabul- Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Salahuddin Rabbani met with the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Kabul, Mr. Mohammad Reza Bahrami this afternoon.

At the outset, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan was informed by the Iranian ambassador regarding his country’s readiness for the inauguration of the railway project from the zero border point between Afghanistan and Iran through Jenoway area in Herat Province which is built by the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Subsequently, the Foreign Minister assured Iranian ambassador to Kabul that the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan stands ready to ensure the security of this project and paves the way for the travel of the Iranian laborers of this project.

In this meeting, the two sides further discussed and exchanged views about cooperation in trade transit between Afghanistan and Iran.
