Wednesday May 17, 2017, H.E. Atiqullah Atifmal, The Ambassador of the I.R. of Afghanistan in Kuala Lumpur, met the Chief Justice of Malaysia, The Right Honourable Tan Sri Dato Seri Md Raus bin Shariff.
The Ambassador stated that Afghanistan and Malaysia as two Muslim countries, we hope to strengthen the bilateral relations in every aspect. There have been visa problems for Afghan businessmen and students who want to come to Malaysia. Malaysia does not only have Embassy in Afghanistan but also the visa on arrival facility is not available for the Afghans which creates many difficulties.
The Chief Justice was requested to cooperate in providing training programs for the Afghan judges in Malaysia as well as inviting Afghan Islamic Scholars to participate in the International Islamic Conferences in Malaysia.
The Chief Justice showed his gratitude from the greetings and congratulatory messages from Afghanistan and mentioned that he has special respect for the Afghan people. He also assured H.E. Atifmal that he will cooperate in addressing the above mentioned issues to the respective authorities and will make sure to cooperate in providing training programs for Afghan judges as well as invite the Afghan Islamic scholars to the International Islamic Conferences when they are taking place in Malaysia. The Chief Justice also added that regular meetings of the Islamic scholars will bring a positive impact on the political and economic relations of the two nations.
