In the beginning, the ambassador appreciated the cooperation with Afghan students studying in various fields in this university. Previously, the university awarded scholarships to Afghan students and H.E. mentioned that the continuation of this process will strengthen the ties between the two countries. The Ambassador also sought the collaboration of University of Malaya in the establishment of Accounting Department in Kabul University.
University of Malaya was formed in 1949 and it is ranked number one among the universities in Malaysia and in top ranking world-wide. There are more than 20000 students studying in several fields in this university. The university also attracted the attention of Afghan students who want to study in Malaysia, especially in the fields of medicine and engineering. Currently, there are many Afghan government sponsored and self-financed students studying in Malaysian universities as well as there are Afghan professors teaching in Malaysian universities.
Professor Dr. Awang assured the university’s collaboration in assisting the establishment of Accounting Department in Kabul University as well as contributing in higher education of Afghanistan.
