H.E paid a courtesy call on President of National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia

H.E. Atiqullah Atifmal Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to Malaysia paid a courtesy call on Datuk Sayed Ali Alattas President of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia, on 26th May 2016. Meanwhile, His Excellency presented his gratitudes and appreciations for the heartfelt personal support from Datuk Alattas in providing sponsorship for Afghan Students to pursue their studies in Malaysia.

In reply to Datuk’s concern on the current peace and security matters in Afghanistan, the peace process has been highlighted as one of the major agendas and the priorities of the Unity Government of Afghanistan. Besides that, the current economic developments particular the establishment of the TAPI, CASA-1000 and the Chabahar projects have been pointed out as few examples of the economic achievements attained by the Government of Afghanistan. It was also mentioned that provided sincere cooperation from the neighboring countries, Afghanistan would become an International Trade Centre and an economic bridge between South and Central Asian countries.

Besides emphasizing on the establishment of the Malaysian Embassy in Afghanistan, it was stated that Malaysia can be one of the major pioneer investors in Afghanistan’s infrastructures which are badly damaged out of the three decades of War.

Other investment opportunities existed in Afghanistan, as well as the exchange of business trips and market exploration among the Malaysian and Afghan Businessmen, the stronger Mutual relationship and cooperation between Chambers of Commerce and companies, active participation of the Afghan Malaysian businessmen in Economic forums and diversification of trade between the two countries, were the other issues discussed at the meeting.
